Based, for most of the year, at Millers Point and Simonstown, both situated on the False Bay coast of the Cape Peninsula, affording us fast access to the fishing grounds and some of the most amazing scenery in the world.

What our friends say ...

Hi Rob.
Nice to see that everything is working again. I don't think that you know what kind of impact you make to people
that love fishing and everything around it. You are a true hero to many of us, not because  that we think that you
are stunning and could be model anytime. In fact you are rather ugly when I think of it, No it is your rare love to the
ocean and things living in it. We catch it because it's there, without it, it is nothing to catch!!!  You and I ain't over
yet man; I am going big before i die and you are not going to stop me. Just tell me the price for your scabby old
boat for a few days and I write you a check this instant.

See ya before you know it...

From Rob: This was one of the more pleasant mails I get after making my clients suffer on fish.  Guess all's fair in love and war, and I probably deserve it.   But what you don't see is my reply ..... and I'll keep it that way :-)  And hey, one day I'll also be a star, even if it's only in a horror movie - so there.

Good after noon

My name is Stiaan du Plooy and I live in PTA (Pretoria). I want to congratulate you on your excellent web-site as this kept me busy for over 3 hours!

You also made it clear to me that one have to start thinking before just going to fish (with your inputs on the tackle)! This sport is not really new to me but as I am living inland and not able to fish whenever the whether suits for it, you opened up my eyes and the way forward in my fishing!

By just reading your articles and stories, not to mention the photos, I will make a point of it to have the privilege to come down and fish with you guys! It is one of my dreams to be in a battle with an 80+kg Yellow fin on 15kg line and I must say you have convinced me to contact you when the bank manager gives me the go-ahead!

In the meantime keep up the good work and very interesting tests on the tackle!

Greetings

Hi Rob

I just want to pass on a big thank you from myself and my brother after our
fishing trip with yourself on Friday, 27th February.
We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and enjoyed your knowledge, experience and
your company.
The fishing was great and I have no hesitation in recommending yourself to
anyone interested in sea fishing.

Once again, many thanks and hopefully we will see you again for more of the
same some time in the future.

Best Regards

Hi Rob
I hope all is well.  Just a quick note to let you know what a good day was had with you back in early Jan.  Paddy hasn't stopped talking about his Cob catch!  I have attached a few pic's you may or may not want to use.  I'm surprised we made it back form your club house in one piece after the amount of rum we consumed!

We all hope to back in CT by the end of the year so will definitely get in touch and arrange another trip with you, weather permitting!

Many thanks again for some great memories and hope to be back soon!

Cheers
David Cullington

I didn’t have the time to thank you before we left the last time. You and

your deckie Dave have given me and my friends lifetime memories that I am

most certain of that I wouldn’t have gotten anywhere. When I talk to you on the

phone the first time 2 years ago I believed that you and your fishing company

sounded like the real stuff. And I was right. So Rob, from a cold and grey Sweden

from all my heart, thank you  for given me those days. And Rob, I still want to get

the big one…

We arrived home yesterday and all we can do is talk about returning to fish again next year. As owners of a bait & tackle shop here in the states we know  fishermen, and you really know how to get the fish. Deb & I were impressed at how passionate you & the staff were to making everyone have a great day of fishing. Everyone entering the shop has to view our fish pictures before leaving.

Your friends Ken & Deb.

Hi Rob
Just a quick message to say thanks for your tremendous hospitality to us on our recent trip to S.A.  Please say hello to Dave  Mark  and  Andre from  all of us. We enjoyed all aspects of our trip to S.A. but the days we spent fishing were special. We enjoyed the fishing, the fun we had on the boats and the socialising afterwards. Once again thanks for everything Rob. Roll on 2004 --looking forward to the return trip. If you or any of the other guys are on this side of the world please give us a shout.
                            Thanking you

"Great waters and great skipper and that's a great combination! It's impressive how Rob just knows where the fish are. I can truly recommend the Jabulani." Peter Sederowsky, Director, QXL plc

"I have had no hesitation in recommending Rob Naysmith to any of my friends
heading down to Cape Town. Having been on two trips with Rob I found him
not only to be utterly professional, but great fun as well. It was
immediately clear that he really knew his stuff, and knows the area
intimately. I came away from both days having had great sport, good fun and
a marvelous learning experience. I can't wait to get back out there!"

" I cannot recommend fishing with Rob enough, he was knowledgeable about
the hugely diverse environment around and was keen to impart this.  He
has an uncanny knack of finding good fish and even during a slow day
his enthusiasm for fishing in general and wealth of anecdotes
guarantees an entertaining day"

Hello there Rob

Just a compliment on the comprehensive and excellent site.  I find the
reports and updates most useful.

Keep up the good work and well done on the rescue.

"You don't want to go with Rob.   He's a salty old sea dog who thinks like a fish, tells the tallest of tales and makes you work hard all day.   Stay away and give me more time"

"An unscheduled spare day in Cape Town and what better way to see the action than to give Rob a call.  I called Rob at 09:30 and by 11:30  we were into the first of 27 Snoek (yet another record for Rob and his team) total weight caught was  226 pounds It was the best day I have had offshore fishing and the next time I come to Cape Town I will definitely be planning ahead and maybe go for the Tuna or Marlin or maybe even a few Brownies from the Stellenbosch mountain streams!"

AND NOW A CHARTER OPERATOR HERE IN CAPE TOWN

An incredible weeks fishing with a great skipper. That pretty much sums up
the sport I had aboard Robs boat during my stay in Cape Town. We caught
loads of good fish, and brought a multitude of fantastic memories back to
England with us. Can't wait to get out there again.
